Opening hours

Plan about two hours for a tour of the phanTECHNIKUM.

September to June Tuesday - Sunday 10 am - 5 pm

July and August Daily 10 am - 6 pm

Special opening hours on Mondays & public holidays

The museum is open from December 27 to 30 inclusive and from January 2 to 5.

Closing times

December 24 to 26 (Christmas)

December 31 to January 1 (New Years Eve)

January 6 to 9 (cleaning week)

Admission prices

Our prices are per person, except for family tickets and packages for children's birthdays. Please note the information on the
minimum number of participants.
We accept all major EC and credit cards (Maestro, MasterCard, VISA, V Pay, Diners, JCB, CUP).

Barrier-free museum

The phanTECHNIKUM is also a place of encounter and exchange. For this reason, we would like to offer the widest possible range of visitors a barrier-free exhibition experience. Plan your visit with the help of our information or contact us personally.

Directions
The nearest bus stop is about 150 meters away. The bus stop is called “Tierpark” and can be reached from the train station via line 1. Coming from the city center, please also take line 1. Further information on how to get here.

Parking
There are a total of three disabled parking spaces in the parking lot in front of the phanTECHNIKUM. Further parking facilities - also for buses - can be found approx. 150 meters away at the Bürgerpark.

Entrance
The entrance to the phanTECHNIKUM is at ground level and the doors are easy to open.You will always find one of our employees in the entrance area. They have the entrance doors directly in view, so that quick and personal assistance is possible.

Elevator
A handicapped-accessible elevator provides access to all exhibition areas.

GENERAL SERVICE
Assistance dogs for the disabled are permitted in the phanTECHNIKUM.
The museum store and the museum cafeteria are barrier-free.
The nearest disabled toilet is located on the ground floor of the building in the immediate vicinity of the cafeteria.

SPECIAL OFFERS
For certain topics, we will gladly make every effort to provide you with customized guided tours. Some experimental stations and historical objects are accessible for the disabled. Our museum is certified. If you have any questions about accessibility, we will be happy to help and advise you.

Arrival

The phanTECHNIKUM is located at the Lübsche Burg in the Wismar-West district of Wismar. The shipyard is in the immediate vicinity. You can reach Wismar from the south via the A14 and from the east and west via the A20. Coaches can park free of charge in the Bürgerpark (approx. 150 meters from the phanTECHNIKUM).

Coming from Hamburg, you can reach us via the A1 towards Fehmarn/Lübeck/Rostock. Before Lübeck, take the A20 towards Rostock until the Wismar-Mitte exit.

 

Coming from Berlin, take the A24 towards Hamburg/Schwerin. At the Schwerin junction, change to the A14 in the direction of Wismar/SchwerinOst/A241. From there, take the A20 exit in the direction of Lübeck as far as the Wismar-Mitte exit.

Coming from Stralsund/Rügen, take the A20 towards Lübeck/Rostock to the Wismar-Mitte exit.

 

FROM WISMAR-MITTE:
Leave the highway
Turn onto the B208 towards Wismar
At the traffic circle, take the third exit B105/B106 towards Wismar-Friedenshof/Wismar-Wendorf/Wismar-West/Grevesmühlen/Lübeck
Continue on the bypass
Take the Wismar-West exit and continue straight ahead
Turn right towards “Zum Festplatz

The phanTECHNIKUM has 40 parking spaces of its own, which are located directly on the museum grounds. Further parking spaces are available at the Bürgerpark (about 150 meters on foot to the phanTECHNIKUM). This is signposted and can be used free of charge. There are approx. 2,000 parking spaces for cars and 50 parking spaces for buses.

You can easily reach Wismar via Bad Kleinen and Rostock main station using the local and long-distance Deutsche Bahn connections. Trains from Berlin and Tessin travel directly to Wismar station several times a day (journey time from Berlin or Hamburg: 3 hours and 1.5 hours respectively). From the station you can easily reach the phanTECHNIKUM by bus.



You can easily reach the museum by city bus from the ZOB or Wendorf stops:

  • Lines 12 and 13 to the “Tierpark / Bürgerpark” stop, in the immediate vicinity of the museum
    Lines 12, 13, 15 and 240 to the “Lübsche Burg” stop, approx. 5 minutes from the museum

FLIXBUS also offers the option of traveling from Berlin & Hamburg to the beautiful Hanseatic city of Wismar.

Guided tours & groups

We offer guided tours and museum rallies for daycare centers, children's and youth groups, as well as for adult groups.
Children's birthday parties or laboratory demonstrations and special workshops extend our offer.

Our bistro is open for selected events and during most vacations. In these cases, however, we will inform you in detail via all channels.

Snack and drinks vending machines are also available. You also have the opportunity to bring your own food and drinks.

Yes, we offer you the classic lockers for storing rucksacks and jackets. There are appropriate storage options for large groups.
