65th Anniversary of the Museum

Join us in celebrating the 65th anniversary of the Technisches Landesmuseum Mecklenburg-Vorpommern at the phanTECHNIKUM! Its predecessor, the Polytechnic Museum, opened on 11 November 1961 in the Orangery of Schwerin Palace. To mark the occasion, we warmly invite you to our anniversary celebration at the phanTECHNIKUM on 13 November at 5 pm.

Two long-standing companions of the museum will devote their talks to its history. The historian Dr Kathrin Möller, Director of the Schiffbau- und Schifffahrtsmuseum Rostock (Shipbuilding and Maritime Museum) since 2017, was instrumental as project manager in preparing and carrying out the move to the phanTECHNIKUM in Wismar. From 2012 to 2014 she was Director of the Technisches Landesmuseum MV. The historian and museologist Wolf Karge was Managing Director of the TLM MV from 1997 to 2008 and, during the museum’s years of upheaval, oversaw the relocation of the collection from Schwerin to Wismar.

Afterwards there will be an opportunity to talk with all those involved and to raise a glass together to the anniversary.

Admission is free. Advance registration is requested by 10 November: direktion@phantechnikum.de
