Film Premiere: Vom Traum unsinkbar zu sein
This screening is the MV premiere of the documentary film Vom Traum unsinkbar zu sein, which will officially be released in cinemas shortly afterwards. The film tells the story of four ships from what was once the largest German deep-sea fishing fleet, the VEB Fischkombinat Rostock, that survived the reunification and are now sailing under a different flag in new waters – whether as a cultural venue or in service as a sea rescue vessel.
With Charly Hübner as narrator, Rostock director Tom Fröhlich unfolds a home film on the sea about stories, memory and transformation.
After the film, there will be a conversation with Rostock-based director Tom Fröhlich. Further guests & info tba.
The event is organised by Bewegtbildbande, a small volunteer initiative from Wismar that has made it its mission to enrich film culture in the city – roughly once a month with film events, mostly documentaries or independent films.
