Vernissage REH
On March 28 at 6 pm, the special exhibition “Mobile Architecture, Temporary Space, Flying Building - The REH Room Extension Halls” will open with a vernissage.
The exhibition sheds light on the fascinating history of the Raumerweiterungshallen (REH), around 3,500 of which were built between 1966 and 1989. These flexible telescopic halls from Boizenburg (Elbe) are true space miracles and offer an innovative solution to the lack of space in cities. They shaped the cityscape in the GDR in particular and can still be found today.
Experience how these mobile architectures, also known as flying buildings, can serve as an answer to the urban challenges of the future. The exhibition was created in cooperation with the Müther Archive at Wismar University of Applied Sciences and is open to the public.
The vernissage is open to the public.
