From Space for Life on Earth

With the INNOspaceEXPO “ALL.täglich!”, the German Space Agency presents an exhibition at the phanTECHNIKUM that highlights the innovation and transfer potential of space exploration for the wider public. Research for space travel and research conducted in space are key drivers of innovation, opening up a wide range of new perspectives for life on Earth and influencing all our lives directly.

Through more than 40 technologies and applications, the INNOspaceEXPO “ALL.täglich!” enables visitors to experience first-hand the extensive transfer of technologies from space to Earth. Innovations from aerospace engineering and space research directly enrich our daily lives across a wide range of areas and lead to developments that have an immediate impact on life on Earth. This is illustrated through key thematic areas and examples:

Living & Working
The “Living & Working” section focuses on the sustainable use of energy and resources. One highlight is the fuel cell, which makes it possible to use hydrogen as a climate-friendly energy source. Satellites such as TerraSAR-X also provide precise data for disaster management and environmental monitoring.

Health & Nutrition
The “Health & Nutrition” section demonstrates direct benefits for people. For example, modern software for the early detection of skin cancer is based on technologies developed for space missions. Methods such as eye tracking and new approaches to wound healing also originate from research involving astronauts.

Travel & Leisure
In the “Travel & Leisure” section, satellite data open up new perspectives. They enable precise environmental analyses, for example for diving areas, and improve hiking routes in mountainous regions through fast and up-to-date situational data—particularly in conditions such as snowfall.

Mobility & Communication
The “Mobility & Communication” section showcases the foundations of our connected world. The Galileo navigation system stands as a prime example of highly accurate positioning and new applications, such as in autonomous transport. Data transmission via communication satellites is also advancing rapidly.

Knowledge & Education
The “Knowledge & Education” section looks to the future. School projects and the promotion of young talent demonstrate how innovation emerges—and how closely space exploration, science, and society are interconnected.
