Special ships from Wismar

From 1951 to 1989, more than 360 ships and other vessels were built in Wismar in addition to folding boats. With the expansion to a compact shipyard (1994 - 1998), the dimensions of shipbuilding were significantly expanded. Cruise ships, container ships and many other types of ships were and are built here.

In this workshop, we want to devote ourselves to the colossi weighing several tons that have been built in Wismar since 1951. After a short tour in an interactive guided tour on the subject of shipbuilding in Wismar, we want to build some special ships that saw the light of day in Wismar together in the virtual world. In this workshop, we will use the game Minetest (Openscource alternative to Minecraft). In a playful way, digital models are created, which can then be printed on a 3D printer! It is advisable to have your own notebook with a mouse. If this is not available, Android tablets are also available in the museum. (max. 360 min.)
